CALGARY, Alberta (Ticker) - The resurgent St. Louis Blues picked up right where they left off prior to the Olympic break.

The Blues try to post their sixth win in seven games Thursday when they visit the Calgary Flames, who are coming off a rare home loss.

With its hot stretch, St. Louis no longer has the league's worst record - Pittsburgh now has that distinction - and has given its fans some reason for hope. The Blues' latest victory came Wednesday, a 4-2 triumph over Edmonton behind a pair of goals from Scott Young and 35 saves from Curtis Sanford, who won his fifth straight start.

Keith Tkachuk and rookie Jay McClement added a goal and an assist apiece for St. Louis, which won despite a season-low 12 shots on net.

Calgary is in the midst of a seven-game homestand that was divided by the Olympic break. The Flames won the first two games before the sabbatical but had their three-game winning streak end Wednesday with a 2-1 loss to Vancouver.

Defenseman Robyn Regehr scored the lone goal for the Flames, who lost for just the ninth time in 29 home games to fall into a tie with the Canucks atop the Northwest Division standings.

Calgary recorded a 3-2 overtime win over St. Louis on February 10 to snap a four-game home losing streak to the Blues.
