LOS ANGELES (Ticker) - The shorthanded Los Angeles Kings have had plenty of time to recover from their midseason slide. They look to notch their third straight victory Thursday when they host the Minnesota Wild.

One of the Western Conference's top clubs earlier this season, the Kings dropped seven straight from January 24-February 8. But they rebounded with consecutive wins prior to the Olympic break and enter Thursday's contest with a one-point lead on Edmonton for the seventh seed in the Western Conference standings.

However, Los Angeles will be without center Pavol Demitra and left wing Alexander Frolov, both of whom suffered injuries in the Olympics.

The team leader in goals and points, Demitra suffered facial injuries while representing Team Slovakia in Torino. He will miss at least two games.

Frolov, Demitra's linemate, will be sidelined 10 days with a separated shoulder. A member of Team Russia, Frolov has 19 goals and a career-high 30 assists in 57 games this season.

Los Angeles hopes to overcome the absence of the high-flying duo Thursday against a Minnesota team that looks to rebound from a 4-2 loss at Colorado on Tuesday.

Pierre-Marc Bouchard and Marian Gaborik both scored power-play goals for the Wild, who have dropped three of their last four.
