SAN JOSE, California (Ticker) -- Vesa Toskala and the San Jose Sharks look to rebound from a heartbreaking loss and conclude a successful homestand when they host the Colorado Avalanche on Sunday.
After winning the first four contests of a six-game homestand, San Jose squandered a late lead before dropping a 4-3 shootout decision to the Dallas Stars on Saturday.
Toskala made 19 saves while Ville Nieminen had a goal and an assist for the Sharks, who fell to 1-7 in the new shootout format.
Pat Rissmiller scored his first career goal Saturday for the Sharks, who fell 19 points behind the Pacific Division-leading Stars (45-19-3).
In spite of Saturday's loss, Toskala has been outstanding at home this season. He fell to 11-0-3 here in 14 starts.
