Calgary (37-21-8) at Minnesota (31-29-7) 7:00 pm EST
ST. PAUL, Minnesota (Ticker) -- The Calgary Flames hope a three-day stay in Minnesota will revitalize them.
After surrendering 12 goals in the first two contests of a seven-game road trip, Calgary opens a two-game series with the Minnesota Wild on Sunday.
The Flames have dropped three of their last four and hold a two-point lead over Colorado in the race for first place in the tight Northwest Division. Edmonton is three points back and Vancouver is four off the pace.
Dion Phaneuf scored two power-play goals and Kristian Huselius added his 16th for the Flames, who yielded five second-period tallies in Saturday's 9-4 defeat to the Nashville Predators.
Despite losing seven of nine, Minnesota has the odd distinction of being the league's only last-place team with a winning record. The Wild are 19-13-2 at home.
Kurtis Foster scored a power-play goal in the third period for Minnesota in Tuesday's 2-1 loss to the Oilers. The defeat gave the Wild a split of consecutive games against Edmonton.
Calgary has won the last four meetings against Minnesota, with a 14-5 edge in goals. The teams face each other again Tuesday.
