No. 7 Georgetown (22-9) at No. 2 Ohio St (26-5) 4:50 pm EST
DAYTON, Ohio (Ticker) -- Second-seeded Ohio State looks to book its first trip to the "Sweet 16" in 14 years when it faces seventh-seeded Georgetown on Sunday in the second round of the Minneapolis Region.
The Buckeyes did reach the Final Four in 1999 but had four seasons from 1998-2002 erased from their records last week by the NCAA for using an ineligible player during that time.
Ohio State received a scare in the first round by a gutsy 15th-seeded Davidson team but managed to come away with a 70-62 triumph on Friday.
Big Ten Player of the Year Terence Dials had 13 of his 19 points in the second half to go along with 12 rebounds. Reserve Ron Lewis added 16 of his 19 points in the final 20 minutes and J.J. Sullinger collected 13 and 13 rebounds.
The Hoyas had a challenge of their own Friday as they toughed out a 54-49 victory over No. 10 Northern Iowa for their first NCAA tournament victory since 2001.
Roy Hibbert, a 7-2 sophomore collected 17 points and nine rebounds while senior Ashanti Cook added 14 points for Georgetown.
The winner faces third-seeded Florida, which cruised past Wisconsin-Milwaukee on Saturday, in the regional semifinals.
