COLUMBUS, Ohio (Ticker) -- With 15 games remaining in the regular season, the Vancouver Canucks continue to plummet through the Western Conference standings.

The Canucks look to snap a season-high five-game losing streak Friday when they conclude a three-game road trip against the Columbus Blue Jackets.

Trying to avoid its first six-game drought since March 13-25, 1999, Vancouver is in eighth place in the West with a two-point lead over Anaheim while trailing Los Angeles by one for seventh.

After opening the trip with a two-goal loss at Dallas on Monday, the Canucks suffered a 5-0 loss to Nashville the next day. It was Vancouver's third defeat to the Predators in 13 days.

Despite being ranked last in the league in goals (166), Columbus has won 11 of 14 home games since December 26 and has a four-point edge over St. Louis and Chicago to avoid last place in the West.

Rick Nash scored his 20th goal on a power play and Jody Shelley added his third of the season for the Blue Jackets in Wednesday's 3-2 loss to the Blackhawks.

Vancouver has won two of the three previous encounters with Columbus, including a 7-4 triumph February 4.
