Phoenix (29-31-4) at Anaheim (30-20-12) 8:00 pm EST
ANAHEIM, California (Ticker) -- The Mighty Ducks of Anaheim hope to complete a sweep of a home-and-home series with the Phoenix Coyotes when the teams meet Sunday at Arrowhead Pond of Anaheim.
The Mighty Ducks have had their way with the Coyotes, posting a record of 8-0-2 with one tie in the last 11 contests between the clubs.
Jonathan Hedstrom had a goal and two assists and Rob Niedermayer tallied twice Saturday as the Mighty Ducks posted a 5-3 triumph over the Coyotes.
Despite getting off to a slow start this season, Anaheim (30-20-12) has gone 9-3-2 over its last 14 games and trails eighth-place Edmonton (32-22-10) by just two points in the Western Conference standings.
"These points are up for grabs, and any team in our position has to win their share of games," Mighty Ducks coach Randy Carlyle said. "If you don't, you are not going to make the playoffs, it's as simple as we can put it. We like to focus on that and give ourselves a chance."
Goaltender Curtis Joseph made 31 saves for the Coyotes, who lost for the ninth time in their last 12 contests despite allowing just one goal on 12 man advantages by the Ducks.
"They played like a team that was desperate to win and we played like a team that was standing around," Phoenix coach Wayne Gretzky said.
