VANCOUVER, British Columbia (Ticker) -- The Columbus Blue Jackets look to extend their franchise-best winning streak to six games Monday when they face the Vancouver Canucks.

The Blue Jackets have won each of their previous five games by one goal, including the last two in a shootout. Jason Chimera scored the decisive goal in the eighth round of the shootout in Thursday's 2-1 triumph over the Edmonton Oilers.

Marc Denis turned aside 28 shots and denied Shawn Horcoff in the final round of the shootout to improve to 3-0 in the new format. Denis has won six consecutive starts, five of which coming against teams competing for a playoff berth.

He faces another playoff contender in the Canucks, who are tied with Calgary atop the Northwest Division with 67 points.

Vancouver is returning home from a 4-3-0 road trip. It opened the trek with three straight losses, then won three in a row before Saturday's 3-1 loss in Edmonton.

Alex Auld made 40 saves but got little support from the offense, which managed just 18 shots against their Northwest Division rivals.

Daniel Sedin scored the only goal for the Canucks, who have won five straight home games. Vancouver owns the best home record in the Western Conference at 18-3-3.

The teams have split a pair of contests this season. The Canucks cruised to a 5-3 win here November 11 and the Blue Jackets responded with a 6-5 triumph in Columbus on January 24 behind a late goal from Trevor Letowski.
