Texas A&M hasn’t lost since falling in overtime at home to Baylor earlier this month.
The 21st-ranked Aggies may feel like that was a game they should have won as well.
Texas A&M looks to win its six straight Saturday night at the Ferrell Center when it tries to avenge that loss to the Bears.
The Aggies’ 76-74 defeat to Baylor on Feb. 5 was their third straight and fourth in five games. Since then, they have won five in a row, posting a 61-47 victory over Oklahoma on Wednesday.
After winning its previous four games by a combined 12 points, Texas A&M (22-5, 9-4 Big 12) appeared in line for another close matchup when it shot 41.7 percent in the first half and trailed by one going into the break.
However, the Aggies responded in the second half, going on a 13-2 run to take a 51-36 lead with six minutes remaining.
“We came out with more energy,” senior guard B.J. Holmes said. “That’s one of the biggest things coach (Mark Turgeon) was talking about at half. We looked flat in the first half. In the second half, we were able to get the fast break and get some better shots.”
Khris Middleton scored 13 points to lead the Aggies, who allowed their fewest points in a conference game since a 66-46 win at Oklahoma State on Feb. 21, 2007.
Texas A&M will try to keep up that defensive intensity against Baylor, which shot 51.8 percent Feb. 5. The Aggies could have put the game away from the free-throw line, but they went 18 of 30 and had three misses in overtime.
In third place in the conference, the Aggies are trying to earn a first-round bye in the Big 12 tournament with a top-four finish. They visit No. 3 Kansas on Wednesday before closing the season at home against Texas Tech next Saturday.

“We haven’t talked about it yet, we’re just going to prepare for Baylor and try to play well,” Turgeon said of earning a bye. “We’ve become a pretty good road team, hopefully that will continue.”
The Aggies have won their last three road games but have lost their last two visits to the Ferrell Center by a combined eight points.
Baylor (17-10, 6-7) has lost three of four, with its only win in that stretch coming against NAIA opponent Wayland Baptist on Feb. 15.
The Bears lost 77-59 at No. 20 Missouri on Wednesday.
LaceDarius Dunn, who leads the conference with 20.4 points per game and became the school’s all-time scoring leader in the victory over the Pioneers, was held scoreless in the first half before finishing with 12 points on 4-of-14 shooting and six turnovers.
“I wasn’t frustrated,” Dunn said. “Any given moment I can have an outburst. They did a great job of containing me, give them credit.”
The Bears finished with 21 turnovers after recording 16 in each of the previous two games. Baylor leads the league with 16.1 turnovers per game.
