Gonzaga (5-0) @ Indiana (4-3)

Gonzaga has fared well during its most challenging stretch away from home this season.

The No. 5 Bulldogs look to continue their success as they face Indiana on Saturday at the Hall of Fame Showcase in what will be the first basketball game played at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis.
Gonzaga (5-0) is coming off an 83-74 victory over then-No. 12 Tennessee in the championship game of the Old Spice Classic on Sunday in Orlando, Fla.

The Bulldogs, who knocked off Oklahoma State and Maryland en route to the finals, now face inexperienced Indiana (4-3), which will have a decisive home-court advantage playing 51 miles from their Bloomington campus.

Seventh-ranked Notre Dame plays Ohio State in the finale of Saturday's doubleheader at the home of the NFL's Indianapolis Colts.

After this contest, Gonzaga plays at Washington State on Wednesday, then meets Arizona in Phoenix on Dec. 14 before returning home to face Texas Southern four days later.

The Bulldogs' experience and some solid defense have attributed to the fast start. That could continue against the Hoosiers, who have one senior and nine freshmen on their roster.

Reserve guard Steven Gray scored 19 points, Matt Bouldin had 17 and Josh Heytvelt added 15 against the Vols for Gonzaga, which shot 52 percent and led by as many as 18.

The Bulldogs held a Tennessee team that entered shooting 53 percent to a season-low 35.5 and forced 21 turnovers. Gonzaga is among the national leaders in defensive shooting percentage, limiting opponents to 34.9 percent.

Jeremy Pargo, who had 10 points and seven assists in the title game, was named tournament MVP after averaging 12.0 points, 5.7 assists and 4.7 rebounds during the event.

"He knows he doesn't need to score to quarterback this club," said Gonzaga coach Mark Few of the reigning West Coast Conference player of the year, who is averaging 9.6 points, 7.0 assists and 5.2 boards.

Pargo was held to seven points on 1-for-7 shooting in Gonzaga's 70-57 loss to Indiana during the first-round of the 2007 NCAA tournament in the team's most recent meeting. He did have 10 points against the Hoosiers in a 90-80 victory in the second round of the 2006 NCAA tournament, Gonzaga's lone win in three all-time games with Indiana.

Though Indiana is learning as it goes under first-year coach Tom Crean, the former Marquette boss would like to see his squad be more competitive against stronger competition.

The Hoosiers hung close for most of the first half before faltering in an 83-58 loss at No. 15 Wake Forest on Wednesday in the Big Ten/ACC Challenge.

Indiana has averaged 54.0 points, 23 turnovers and shot 38.3 percent in losses to Wake, St. John's and No. 8 Notre Dame.

"Before we can make strides, we've got to learn to compete at a higher level for a longer period of time, and before we can learn to compete, we've got to learn to talk more to one another," said Crean, whose team is averaging 65.4 points and shooting 45.1 percent overall. "All those things that you expect with a brand new, young team, I'm learning for the first time, too, because it's just different."

Matt Roth had 12 points Wednesday for the Hoosiers, who failed to overcome a tough night from 6-foot-9 forward Tom Pritchard. Pritchard, who leads all Big Ten freshmen at 14.1 points per game, was held to four on 1-for-7 shooting versus the Demon Deacons.
