RALEIGH, North Carolina (Ticker) -- Two of the NHL's division leaders collide Thursday when the Philadelphia Flyers visit the Carolina Hurricanes.

The Atlantic Division-leading Flyers have won four straight games, including victories in the first three contests of their current 11-game road trip - the last two in overtime or a shootout.

After defeating Florida in a shootout Monday, Philadelphia came away with a 4-3 overtime triumph in Atlanta on Wednesday. Sami Kapanen collected a goal and an assist and Simon Gagne added his 26th goal, tying him with Carolina's Eric Staal for the NHL lead.

Following a five-game winning streak, the Hurricanes have lost two straight, including Wednesday's 6-2 drubbing at Ottawa.

Goaltender Martin Gerber had one of his worst games of the season, surrendering five goals before being yanked early in the third period. The Swiss Olympian has surrendered 10 goals in his last two games.

Carolina posted an 8-6 home victory over Philadelphia on October 28. Staal recorded a hat trick for the Hurricanes, who rallied from a 5-3 deficit to record the win.
