Detroit (24-9-3) at Dallas (23-10-1) 8:30 pm EST
DALLAS (Ticker) -- When Dallas Stars coach Dave Tippett reviews Marty Turco's career record against the Detroit Red Wings, he may want to consider giving his All-Star goaltender an extra day to recover from the flu.
Turco could be back in net Tuesday when the Stars host the Red Wings in a matchup of first-place teams in the Western Conference.
An All-Star in each of the last two seasons, Turco did not travel with the team Monday but his services were not required. Johan Hedberg came within 3:52 of his first career shutout and added a pair of assists as the Stars recorded a 6-1 triumph over St. Louis.
Mike Modano scored twice and Brenden Morrow and Jason Arnott added three assists apiece for Dallas, which has won 13 of its last 17 games.
However, the Stars have not fared well against the Red Wings of late, going 0-3-5 against them since a 3-2 victory on January 16, 2002. Turco has struggled against Detroit as well, posting a career 0-4-5 record.
The Red Wings enter Tuesday on a three-game winning streak following their miraculous 3-2 overtime triumph over Chicago on Friday. Detroit trailed, 2-0, with under 40 seconds remaining before Kris Draper and defenseman Nicklas Lidstrom scored to force overtime.
Pavel Datsyuk scored the game-winner with under one second to go in overtime to stun the Blackhawks and give the Red Wings their sixth win in eight games.
