SUNRISE, Florida (Ticker) - The Philadelphia Flyers hope to maintain their slim Atlantic Division lead when they visit the Florida Panthers on Monday.
Winners of two straight games and five of their last seven, the Flyers own a one-point advantage over the New York Rangers despite having played two fewer games.
Philadelphia edged Pittsburgh, 5-4, on Friday thanks to a pair of goals from Peter Forsberg and one from Simon Gagne, who has two goals and two assists in three games since returning from a groin injury.
Florida dropped a 4-3 contest at Carolina on Friday, but still has wins in four of its last six games following a stretch in which it won only four times in 22 contests.
Olli Jokinen scored two goals to bring his season total to 16, tying him with Nathan Horton for the team lead. Jokinen also set up another to give him a team-best 21 assists on the campaign.
The Flyers won the two previous meetings against the Panthers this season - both in Philadelphia by a 5-4 margin.
