Motor City bowl gets Zips, Tigers matchup

The MAC's Akron Zips will take on the Big Ten's Memphis Tigers on Monday, December 26 in the Motor City Bowl at Ford Field.

Akron brings a 7-5 overall mark (6-3 in the conference) into this game verus a Memphis team carrying a 6-5 record.

Akron opened as a 6.5-point underdog to Memphis in this game. Oddsmakers pegged the opening total at 47 points.

J.D. Brookhart's troops went to Northern Illinois last game and came away with a 31-30 win. Oddsmakers had them as 13-point underdogs in that one.

Tommy West's troops were at home against the Thundering Herd last game and came away with a 26-3 win. Oddsmakers had them as 9.5-point favorites in that game.
