Oakland covered at home against Indy and get 13 points at Jacksonville this week. The Jags cemented their claim to contender status in the AFC with a win in the snow at Pitt, wrecking their perfect season at home. The Jags are scoring, playing OVERs and gearing up for Wild Card weekend.

Oddsmakers currently have the Jaguars listed as 14-point favorites versus the Raiders, while the game's total is sitting at 39.

The Raiders lost to Indianapolis 21-14 as a 10-point underdog in Week 15. The combined score fell UNDER the posted over/under total (45).

Josh McCown completed 13-of-24 passes for 94 yards with a touchdown for Oakland and Justin Fargas rushed for 89 yards and a touchdown on 26 carries.

The Jaguars defeated Pittsburgh 29-22 as a 3-point underdog in Week 15. The combined score went OVER the posted over/under total (34.5).

David Garrard passed for 197 yards with three touchdowns and an interception for Jacksonville, while Fred Taylor rushed for 147 yards on 25 carries with a touchdown in the win.

The Raiders are still playing hard for first year coach Lane Kiffin and they qualify in a solid 58-20 ATS situation while the Jaguars apply to a negative 67-140-3 ATS big home favorite situation. Unfortunately, my math model favors the Jaguars by 16 ½ points with the horrible Josh McCown at quarterback for the Raiders. JaMarcus Russell, the #1 draft pick earlier this year, will get more substantial playing time, which may be good or may be bad for Oakland. I’ll just assume that Russell is going to be as bad as McCown. The situations have me leaning with Oakland despite the negative line value.
