The New Orleans Saints opened the season with an emotional victory over the Carolina Panthers.

But heading into Sunday's rematch, the Panthers are the ones tied for first place in the NFC South.

Carolina is tied with Tampa Bay for the division lead with three games remaining. The Panthers close the season with a home game against Dallas and a road contest against Atlanta, which is one game back in the NFC South.

Last Sunday, the Panthers suffered a 20-10 home loss to Tampa Bay. The Panthers' lone touchdown came with 23 seconds left - a 10-yard pass from former Saint Jake Delhomme to Ricky Proehl.

Carolina has played well away from home, posting a 4-2 record.

The victory over the Panthers was the high point for the Saints, who were forced out of New Orleans due to the destruction caused by Hurricane Katrina. The Saints have split their home games between San Antonio and Baton Rouge. They even were forced to play a so-called "home game" at Giants Stadium.

New Orleans is 0-3 here, losing to Miami, Chicago and Tampa Bay. The Saints play their final home game against Detroit in San Antonio next week.

John Carney provided the winning points in the 23-20 victory over the Panthers on September 11, kicking a 47-yard field goal with three seconds remaining.

Aaron Brooks was efficient for the Saints, completing 18-of-24 passes for 192 yards without a turnover. Meanwhile, Delhomme threw two interceptions and lost a fumble.

Brooks went 27-of-46 for 219 yards and a touchdown and Antowain Smith ran for a score in last Monday's 36-17 loss at Atlanta.
