12/18 NFL:Arizona @ Houston

The Houston Texans have the NFL's worst record with three games left. However, that may not be a bad thing to have at the end of the season.

Seemingly inventing new ways to lose each week, the Texans try to halt their latest skid at six games Sunday when they host the Arizona Cardinals.

If the Texans finish with the NFL's worst record, they would secure the top pick in April's draft. That selection likely would be running back and Heisman Trophy winner Reggie Bush, who already has drawn comparisons to Gale Sayers.

One of the few bright spots for the Texans actually has been running back Domanick Davis, who is 24 yards shy of his third straight 1,000-yard season despite working behind the league's worst offensive line.

Davis has rushed for 394 yards the last two weeks, including 139 in last Sunday's 13-10 loss at Tennessee. Kris Brown had a potential go-ahead 37-yard field goal blocked with 3:48 remaining, then badly missed a 31-yarder as time expired.

It was the Texans' third straight loss that went down to the wire.

Three weeks ago, the Texans squandered a 10-point lead with under three minutes remaining in an overtime loss to St. Louis. The next week, they allowed Baltimore to drive for the winning field goal with under a minute remaining in a 16-15 loss.

The Cardinals will miss the playoffs for a seventh straight season. However, they likely will avoid a last-place finish in the NFC West since they are two games in front of San Francisco.

Last Sunday, Kurt Warner threw for 255 yards and a touchdown in the Cardinals' 17-13 loss to Washington. The two-time NFL MVP has thrown for at least 300 yards in four of his last six games.
