On the rebound: Wizards hungry after loss

The Trail Blazers want to avoid a repeat of last game's result - a 111-99 loss to SuperSonics - when they host the Wizards Sunday.

It's a non-conference battle pitting the Wizards, who come in at 9-12 against the Trail Blazers.

Oddsmakers like the Wizards in this one, opening the line at 5.5 in favor of Washington. They are 9-12 this season, while the Trail Blazers are 6-16. The total is 11-11-0 to the OVER in Trail Blazers games.

Last time out, the Wizards lost to the Lakers 97-91 as 5 point underdogs. That contest went under the closing total.

Nate McMillan's troops were at home against the SuperSonics last game and came away with a 111-99 loss, a game that went over 194.5. Oddsmakers had them as 4.5-point underdogs in that one.

You can't expect much in the way of offensive fireworks from Portland. Saddled with the 30th-ranked offence and averaging just 86.1 points per game the Trail Blazers' offence needs to give its defensive unit some help Sunday in order to have a chance against the Wizards.
