12/16 NFL New York Jets @ New England

New England's average margin of victory is 21 points per game. The Jets only average 18 points per game. You figure it out. New York tries to play spoiler for their division rivals in a game accentuated by the Belichick SpyGate controversy earlier this season.

Oddsmakers currently have the Patriots listed as 21-point favorites versus the Jets, while the game's total is sitting at 42.

The Jets lost to Cleveland 24-18 as a 3.5-point underdog in Week 14. The combined score went OVER the posted over/under total (47.5).

Kellen Clemens completed 24-of-41 passes for 286 yards with two interceptions and a touchdown run for the Jets, while Thomas Jones rushed for 106 yards on 24 carries.

The Patriots defeated Pittsburgh 34-13 as an 11-point favorite in Week 14. The combined score fell UNDER the posted over/under total (49.5).

Tom Brady threw four touchdowns while passing for 399 yards for New England, while Randy Moss caught seven passes for 135 yards with two touchdowns in the win.

New England surely wants to beat up on the Jets given that they were the team that ratted the Patriots out to the NFL about the video taping of coaches signals during games. However, the Jets apply to a 34-6-1 ATS subset of a 110-58-2 ATS situation and New England is 0-2 ATS this year laying more than 17 points. Let’s assume that New England’s desire to embarrass the Jets balances out the situation favoring New York. With that being the case I’ll go with the projected score from my math model, which is 35-14 Pats.
