Rams, Seahawks set for NFC West battle
First place in the NFC West division will be on the line Sunday when the St. Louis Rams take to the gridiron versus the Seattle Seahawks.
St. Louis brings a 2-2 overall mark (1-1 in the division) into this game versus a Seattle team also carrying a 2-2 record.
Defense may play a big role in this one, but that's mainly because experts don't think much of it will be played. Oddsmakers opened the total on the high side, a huge 48. That will require lots of offense - and porous defense - to surpass. St. Louis, 1-3 ATS on the season, opens as a 3-point favorite in this one.
Mike Holmgren's team was busy last game losing to Washington 20-17 as 2-point underdogs. The 37 points sent that game over the total of 36.
A game after giving up 44 points in a loss against New York, Mike Martz expects his defense to clamp down and contain the Seahawks.
St. Louis will look to air it out this week and they continue to boast one of the league's best passing games. They are averaging 299.5 yards per game through the air, second-best in the league.
Some trends to consider:
Seattle is 1-4-1 OU in their last 6 games against St. Louis
Seattle is 1-4-0 ATS in their last 5 away games
Seattle is 1-4-0 ATS in their last 5 games against St. Louis
