Cardinals go for knockout blow
The St.Louis Cardinals will attempt to eliminate the San Diego Padres from the NL playoffs when the two face off at Jacobs Field on Saturday.
The Cardinals are favored to win at home at -115, whlie the Padres are listed at EVEN odds, with a posted total of 8.5.
The Cards will send Jeff Suppan to the hill to try and send home the Padres home, with his 12-7 record in the regular season, to go with an 4.12 ERA. Albert Pujols has led the Cards with one homer and three RBIs in the series.
The Padres will have 11-5 man Chris Young on the mound in an effort to stave off elimination. Young also had a 3.46 ERA during the season for the Padres, who have only scored one run this postseason, driven in by Ryan Klesko.
