The Colorado Rockies and the Boston Red Sox will both be gunning for the win on Wednesday night when they battle at Fenway Park in Game 1 of the World Series.

The Rockies will trot ace Jeff Francis out to the mound in this one. Lefthander Francis has a 19-9 record overall and a 4.11 ERA this season.

Francis' opponent in this one will be Josh Beckett. The Red Sox ace righthander has a 3.06 ERA to go along with a 23-7 record overall this season.

Oddsmakers currently have the Red Sox listed as 220-moneyline favorites versus the Rockies, while the game's total is sitting at 8½.

The Rockies reached the World Series for the first time in franchise history with a 6-4 win over the Arizona Diamondbacks and a sweep of the NLCS last time out. The Rockies won that game as -170 favorites, and the combined 10 runs made it OVER the posted over/under (9.5).

Matt Holliday led the way with a three-run homer, and finished 2-for-3 at the plate for the Rockies. Matt Herges tossed two innings of scoreless relief for the win, and Manny Corpas picked up his second save of the postseason.

The Red Sox defeated the Cleveland Indians 11-2 as a -175 favorite in Game 7 of ALCS. The 13 runs scored went OVER the posted total (10).

Dustin Pedroia was 3-5 with a home run and five RBI for Boston, while Kevin Youkilis was 3-5 with a home run and two RBI in the win. Daisuke Matsuzaka went five innings, allowing two runs on six hits with three strikeouts, in the clincher.
