1 more reason why everyone hates U.S.

dude nevermind

that link pulled up something else when I clicked on it.

but basically one of the candidates in ukraine lost the presidential race and It was in the interest of the US for him to win, so now maybe americans will get to free another country.

Yet at the same time people of a mentality I suspect you may belong to also constantly lambast the US for not *giving enough foreign aid and for not doing enough to stop genocidal conflicts.*

You realize that whatever nation is a hegemon is going to enact in its own interests, tempered and guided by its principles, right?

Among these interests and principles is the idea that democracy is better for us and the world.

You don't see anything wrong with promoting that do you?

Of course most liberals are fighting this for some odd reason; perhaps because the aim of a liberal is to basically buck against leaders irregardless of what they aim to accomplish. Rebellion for the sake of rebellion. Pure idiocy is what I call it. Probably based more on latent childhood issues than anything else.

You ought to quit your incessant Euro-trash complaints and realize that the US is a far brighter world leader than ANY of the alternatives it fought against in the 20th, including Euros' like Germany and Italy.

Though I realize how nuts it gets with this type of outlook so I would only be slightly surprised to hear that the world would have been better off had the US not forced the Soviet Union into submission.

Or whatever nihilistic anti-reality liberal shit is hip over there at the moment.

give it few years and you gonna be living in soviet states of america

I think the only problem that I have is that the U.S is by far the biggest economic and military power in the world, and most of it's power goes into one man. Nobody is perfect, problem is, when you have all that power, not many people have the cajoles to say anything.

And quite a few Australians hate the way our leader is Bush's lapdog (I don't really care).

On a side note... saw a funny show where this comedian who looks nothing like our Prime Minister went over pretending to be him, handing out fliers and whatnot and people were getting autographs and photos! Shows how important we are in the news over there. =)

Let's start with the patriot act.

Typical response that makes zero sense. Please explain what you mean. Im going to wait for the standard "Halliburton" remark.

Whats funny is that folk from outside our country justify making our election/policies/etc their business because they say it undoubtedly affects them, yet in the same breath they criticize us for making other affairs our business.

Isnt it ironic.....dont ya think?

Its like Raiiiyyyyiiiaaaaannnnnn...................

well I'm inside this country actually

I just want to know why oh why U.S must be the one deciding who gets elected as a president in Ukraine? are they a threat too? maybe they've got some wmds?

They didnt decide anything, they voiced their dissaproval. As did the Uk. As did other countries. Why single us out?

WASHINGTON, Nov. 24 - Secretary of State Colin L. Powell said Wednesday that the voting in Ukraine's presidential election was riddled with fraud and that the United States could not accept a victory by Victor F. Yanukovich as legitimate.

funny how U.S backed candidate lost and americans declared the election fradulent right away

How can we go out and "teach" democracy when ours is so suspect

40% of people vote... incumbent wins 90% of the time... sounds like a great democracy there.

You know, all you have to offer is a chronic litany of complaints.

Someone proposes something positive, you respond with "wahhh wahhh but what about THISSSSSSSS."

The incumbent wins 90% of the time (you imply voter fraud  ) and so we shouldn't promote democracy?

Grow up.

You form your ideas by looking for something negative. (Even to the point of picking something infinitely minor and meritless).

As far as doing anything in the world, this way of reasoning is useless.

People will always hate the person in charge...any way that you look at it. The US $ rules the world.

oh my god, you're right... this will turn my life around

look buddy. I realize that the US acts in its own interests and I fully expect that. However don't expect ME to buy the bullshit that we use to justify our "in our best interests" international moves

"bringing democracy to the middle-east!" sure.

Is it *wrong* for us to CHEER for a presidential candidate in another country who'd be more benefical to us?

Didn't the chinese do the same during the Clinton reign? Tons of forieng influence makes itself known during every presidential campaign. Go check to see the amount of sponsors that were foreign or from establishments foriegn-owned on Bush's list.

Historically we have been quite principled. Additionally, promoting democracies in a place of terrorism and growing likelihood of one of these nations acquiring a nuclear weapon is absolutely in our national security interests.

Again, you only focus on the negative, which you (inaccurately) define yourself I might add; and in this case the negative as you've defined it (our motivations) is a small piece of a larger picture.
