Note to Cheeseheads everywhere – the Giants are on a mission and are 9-1 SU on the road this season. Either Bret Favre or Eli Manning will be the NFC starting QB in Super Bowl XLII after both turned in inspired performances in victories last weekend. The Packers have won four of five meetings since 1995, including a September 35-13 rout at the Meadowlands. New York comes in looking to avenge that defeat and win their third straight playoff game as a road dog.

Oddsmakers currently have the Packers listed as 7-point favorites versus the Giants, while the game's total has not yet been posted.

The Giants defeated Dallas 21-17 as a 7-point underdog in last week's NFC Divisional matchup. The combined score fell UNDER the posted over/under total (47.5).

Eli Manning passed for 163 yards with two touchdowns for New York, while Amani Toomer caught four passes for 80 yards with two touchdowns and the defense stymied Tony Romo the entire second half.

Brett Favre threw three touchdowns to lead the Packers to a 42-20 win over the Seahawks in the Divisional playoffs. The Packers covered the 7.5-point spread, and the combined score sailed OVER the posted total of 44.

Favre completed 18-of-23 pass attempts for 173 yards, and Ryan Grant carried the ball 27 times for 201 yards with three touchdowns in the win.

Team records:
New York: 10-6 SU, 10-6 ATS
Green Bay: 13-3 SU, 12-3-1 ATS

Naturally you're going to think that this is another "homer" call by BAGIANT, but it's not! Let's face it, the Giants are on a roll! They've won 9 games in a row on the road...an NFL record. They have become the new ROAD WARRIORS of the NFL. But I'm not going to base this pick on anything more than fact!
The fact is the Giants have the BEST sack force in the NFL having 52 regular season sacks to their credit. This is going to play a BIG part on how they are going to beat the Packers! Their front 7 is one of the best in the league if not the best. If the Giants defensive coordinator has any brains, he'll blitz Favre continually until he begs for mercy! A rattled Favre is not a comfortable Favre, and any time they force him out of the pocket, the G-men have the advantage! If you've followed Bret like I have throughout his career, you know that when Bret gets frustrated he tries to force the ball to his receivers, just like Romo did at the end of the game vs. the Giants. When he does this, he makes big mistakes! The Giants can take advantage of those mistakes and possibly get easy scores with Packers turnovers.
If the Giants front 7 can stop their former teammate Grant from running the ball for any kind of advances, the Giants can have the Packers right where they want them. Putting them in continuous passing situations which the Giants can take advantage of.
When the Giants have the ball, they can try and pound it out with Jacobs and set up scampers when they bring Bradshaw into the game. Needless to say, this will be a key factor in the Giants winning this game. The run always sets up the pass as the defense will have to respect the play action pass. And that's where Manning comes into play! I know that some of you will say that Manning sometimes looks like a deer looking into headlights, but I think he's come of age! For the last 3 games, Manning has gotten over a 100 passing rating for three games in a row, a first for him since becoming a Giant. He seems much more comfortable in the pocket and is making good decisions on where to throw the ball.
Manning's receivers are top notch with Burress, Toomer and Smith contributing heavily at key times during the game. Moss might have gotten all the accolades during the season, but Burress is right up there with him as far as stats go!
I just have a very strong feeling that the Giants are going to the Super Bowl after they beat the Packers. My guess is that the public will be all over the Packers just like they were on the Cowboys last weekend. Ironically the point spread is exactly what it was for the Cowboys game. If the Cowboys beat the Packers and the Giants beat the Cowboys, WHY shouldn't the Giants beat the Packers?
The BIG Lambeau Field advantage has disappeared over the last few years as I've pointed out in many write ups! True they did very well there this year, but the advantage isn't what it once was.
So overall, I think the Giants will beat the Packers this weekend and get into the Super Bowl for the fourth time. Remember this, the Giants are 3-0 in NFC Championship games!

If we could only live in the past life would be so much easier. I feel bad for Eli and the Olson twins. He'll have plenty of free time after this weekend.

Lol @ Favre falling apart once he leaves the pocket. Which Packers team has this guy been watching over the past four months?

If NY can run the ball they'll get to favre enough
making the points a cushion
