Indiana (10-8) at (18) Wisconsin (13-4)

Wisconsin has yet to win consecutive games in Big Ten play. A visit from Indiana could help change things.

The No. 18 Badgers look to run their home winning streak over the Hoosiers to 10 games on Thursday night.

Wisconsin (13-4, 3-2) has alternated wins and losses since opening conference play with a 68-60 victory over then-No. 14 Minnesota on Dec. 28. All three victories have come at home where the Badgers have won 13 in a row following a 76-66 win over then-No. 16 Illinois on Saturday.

“Hopefully we can string some wins together,” Badgers leading scorer Jon Leuer told the school’s official website.

That’s possible against Indiana (10-8, 1-4), which has dropped six straight overall to Wisconsin. The Hoosiers have averaged 53.6 points and shot 39.7 percent during their nine-game skid in Madison.

Indiana has lost 10 straight overall on the road since a 67-61 win at Penn State on Jan. 21.

“This is going to be a great test for (our) guys,” Indiana coach Tom Crean told the school’s official website.

Though the Hoosiers have struggled away from home, Wisconsin looks to get back on track after shooting 38.6 percent its last two games.

The Badgers overcame a 39.1 percent shooting effort by holding Illinois to a season-low 30.2 percent from the field. In three league home games, Wisconsin held Minnesota, Michigan and Illinois to a combined 58.7 points per contest on 36.1 percent from the field.

“I think it’s just all about staying aggressive and eventually things will start to go your way if you stay positive and stay confident,” guard Jordan Taylor said.

Offensively, Leuer (19.2 points per game) and Taylor (17.0 ppg) continue to pace the Badgers.

After being held to 10 points in a 64-61 overtime loss at Michigan State on Jan. 11, Leuer had 26 on 9 of 16 shooting against the Illini.

Taylor had 22 points Saturday, and is averaging 21.3 at home in Big Ten play this season.

The Badgers won both meetings with Indiana last season by an average of 30 points.

The Hoosiers snapped a six-game skid with an 80-61 win over Michigan on Saturday.

Verdell Jones III scored 24 points on 9-of-10 shooting and Christian Watford added 17 with 10 rebounds as Indiana shot a season-high 67.4 percent.

“Whether it’s maturity, whether it’s mental toughness, confidence, whatever it is, those things, it’s there and we just need to bring it forth,” Crean said. “(We will) see if they can carry over that mindset that they’ve been practicing with and what they played Saturday night with to a road venue.”

Indiana, however, will be without guard Maurice Creek after he suffered a stress fracture in his right kneecap late in Saturday’s victory.

Creek, who averaged a team-leading 16.4 points in 12 games before a fractured left kneecap cut short his freshman season in 2009-10, averaged 8.3 while starting 13 of 18 contests.

“You can’t imagine how big a blow it is to him,” Crean said.

Jones, 11 points shy of 1,000 for his career, has averaged 17.0 on 11-of-22 shooting in two games at Wisconsin.

The Hoosiers have dropped 21 straight road games against Top 25 opponents since a 77-66 win at No. 13 Iowa on Jan. 13, 2002.
