DENVER (Ticker) -- Alex Tanguay and the Colorado Avalanche look to build on their longest winning streak in five years when they host the Toronto Maple Leafs on Tuesday.

The Avalanche extended their winning streak to seven on Saturday with a 4-3 overtime victory over former teammate Peter Forsberg and the Philadelphia Flyers.

Tanguay netted the game-winner with 46 seconds left in the extra session and David Aebischer stopped 27 shots to notch his sixth consecutive win.

Aebischer has been outstanding of late for the Avalanche, who have yielded just 11 goals during their seven-game run. The Swiss netminder has rebounded from a poor month of December by posting a .948 save percentage during his personal winning streak in January.

With a win Tuesday, Colorado will record its longest winning streak since reeling off nine straight victories from October 10-28, 2000.

They look to continue their suffocating defensive play against a Toronto squad which hopes to rebound from a brutal 4-3 loss to former teammate Curtis Joseph and the Phoenix Coyotes on Saturday.

The Maple Leafs scored a trio of power-play goals in the first period against Joseph but failed to tally down the stretch as the Coyotes netted four unanswered goals to rally for the victory.

Defenseman Carlo Colaiacovo scored a goal and assisted on another in the contest for the Maple Leafs, who have lost three of their last four.
