PITTSBURGH (Ticker) - Rookie sensation Sidney Crosby looks to give his home fans one last thrill this season when the Pittsburgh Penguins host the New York Islanders on Monday in the finale of a home-and-home series.
The top overall draft selection in 2005, Crosby leads the lowly Penguins with 38 goals and 59 assists this season. He has been particularly outstanding at Mellon Arena, scoring 21 goals and 52 points in 39 games.
Crosby failed to record a point Saturday as the Penguins dropped a 5-4 shootout decision to the Islanders.
John LeClair tallied twice for Pittsburgh, which has lost seven of its last 10.
Jason Blake scored two goals and Robert Nilsson netted the deciding shootout tally for New York, which has won three of the four meetings between the clubs this season.
