SAN JOSE, California (Ticker) - The San Jose Sharks will try to extend a lengthy winning streak to the end of the regular season Monday, when they take on the Los Angeles Kings, who will be playing their final game with Luc Robitaille.

A future Hall of Famer and the franchise's all-time leading scorer, Robitaille will retire after the season. He is the NHL's highest-scoring left wing and his 1,394 points are 19th on the all-time list.

The way the Sharks have been playing, Robitaille's finale may not end on a positive note. San Jose has won eight in a row, locked up the No. 5 seed in the Western Conference playoffs and has a pair of stars vying for scoring titles.

Jonathan Cheechoo, who had a hat trick in Saturday's 6-3 win over Anaheim, leads the NHL with 56 goals, two more than Jaromir Jagr of the New York Rangers. Joe Thornton is three ahead of Jagr for the league lead with 125 points, and is four assists shy of 100.

Jagr plays his last game Tuesday against Ottawa.

Although Robitaille failed on a shootout attempt in his final home game, the Kings posted a 2-1 victory over Calgary on Saturday, snapping a four-game losing streak that doomed their playoff chances.

Pavol Demitra scored in regulation and in the shootout and Jason LaBarbera made 39 saves for Los Angeles.
