marinades

I’ve got to get together coming up and I’m gonna cook some chicken on the grill first off can you give me some tips on how I can make sure the chicken is cooked thoroughly and not burned? Also what kind of marinades do you recommend for a nice grilled chicken that’s cooked to perfection?
