POSTAGE ANNOUNCEMENT
All - as some of my customers have noticed when ordering last week - there have been huge delays and inconsistent tracking in the Australia Post network.
This appears to be related to:
1.
Nationwide Telstra outage
2.
Flow-on impacts to Australia Post's scanning and tracking systems, particularly affecting lodgement and tracking events.
The impact of this outage to Australia Post for orders completed during this week include:
- scanning equipment unavailable at some facilities
- lodgement events delayed
- tracking information not updating in real time
- internal systems experienced communication delays
- incorrect sorting (e.g. a shipment intended for QLD has gone walkabout across WA & SA before finally reaching its intended destination in QLD ~2 weeks later)
Of the roughly 2-300 orders completed over that week - it appears that only
3-4 customer orders remain undelivered. Please have patience as these will be delivered. It may just take some time.
Separately - over the
last several days (Tue-Fri), some states in Australia have experienced major issues / delays with
yellow express post PO boxes. We processed & shipped approx. 100 shipments over this period. All of these shipments display the same messaging, being "
PENDING". You can further verify this by reading the front page of the 'Dread' Aussie forum on the dark web which notes many users complaining that that their order has not progressed from "
PENDING".
Today - we
spoke with Australia Post staff who indicated that
'over the counter' shipments were not affected as they travel via a different route to airport, etc. Given they run a local AusPost branch, they were unaware of any concerns over PO boxes.
Our team then called Australia Post directly. They indicated that certain areas are still working through the impact of the Telstra outage. This includes continued damage to the scanning & tracking system (e.g. one of my customers in QLD received their order today - nearly 1.5 weeks after the initial Telstra outage.
Australia Post has launched an investigation into any inconsistencies surrounding those relevant sorting facilities. They have promised to provide results of their investigation within 24 hours. We will keep you updated as things progress.
To my loyal customers that have made
orders in the last week (as well as 2-3 weeks) - please be patient. We are unable to track these parcels - similar to Australia Post. They all show "Pending" - this is despite 1-2 of my customers receiving their orders overnight.
AusPost indicated that by the end of the weekend - this situation should be resolved.
I feel awful know that some of my customers are still awaiting orders from 1-2 weeks ago - as you know - we pride ourselves on perfection.
Fingers crossed that the situation is resolved in coming days. We find it just as annoying as our shipping is near always 1-2 days max across Australia. We have the tracking numbers recorded for all shipments made over the last 3-4 weeks - so if you would like to access your tracking number - please reach out - although it is likely you will see the same "PENDING" message.
Australia Post have suggested waiting to Monday - and the issues within the relevant sorting centre(s) will have been resolved.
As always - we are hyper focused on customer service and we apologise for this inconvenience. When those affected parcels do arrive, we will ensure some freebies make their way into those next orders.
If you have any questions, please message us on Telegram (@ironcladlabs) or Threema (NZJH7H3A).
Given the consistent volume of daily orders (50+) that we process and ship - PO boxes remain the only viable option to ensure fast delivery. So far it has proven to be so - classic AusPost to throw a spanner in the works.
We will continue to keep you updated - and we ask for your patience with these historical orders. We are confident all will be resolved - and we are in constant contact with AusPost to understand the issue.
Thanks all.
Clad
Hopefully the above helps. It sounds promising from Melatonin
