you need to look at the amount of protein you're taking in man, if you have too much then it's just useless, you really want to be able to use up everything you eat and have nothing useless in your body, eggs are pretty protein packed and so are shakes so weight up what you want.
I usually have a decent meal like Pasta or something a few hours before I know i'm going to be working out. Carbs keep you going through the hard stuff and you can feel pretty fantastic if you've got your timing right, feels like you never need to stop.
You want to build up those distances, then add in some weights and then you'll be getting the results you want. Yu're body will take a little time to adjust to this but if you push it you'll probably end up really hurting yourself.
