Our world has been FOREVER CHANGED because of the internet. For you (especially being a gifted COB member) to tell me OR ANYONE HERE that we shouldn't take it seriously *just because* you enjoy watching people being hurt and maligned doesn't seem to make a whole lot of sense. Matter of fact it seems especially CONTRADICTORY being that this CAME FROM YOU.

If we are using YOUR logic then why shouldnt ALL the board members be free to:

disrespect the mods and admin and make as much trouble as makes thier little hearts flutter with delight?

I mean, what should ANY OF US CARE about "the rules"? And I am not just talking about chat - I am talking about ALL of the forums on elite.

its just fun. the ef diss was funny. i loved having a stalker. i showed so many people that i was a celebrity in 1 poor kids mind. i see the rule issues but if we cant laugh at ourselves we shouldnt laugh at others.

I didn't see the video in question here but I am thinkin it was pretty UNfunny and more along the lines of foul and malicious perhaps even offensive. But I don't know and honestly, I don't care.

I've had people stalk me for more years than I'd like to remember. To a point it IS funny, especially since the ASSTARD this particular situation has been totally ignored by me FOR MONTHS even when the little moronic pissant called me out by my screenname several times. So the whole "ignore them and they will just go away" directive sometimes makes it worse. As the sick moronic obsessive fucktard feels the need to keep upping the ante until their actions almost DEMAND some sort of attention. The irony of this particular instance is that ME (one of the objects of that moron's obsession) never even got my feathers ruffled BECAUSE I DIDNT SEE! hehehehehe but his ass got bant just the same.

The fact is that the internet has had a serious impact on all of our lives - that is an indisputable FACT. So one can not use the arguement, "It's just the internet, don't take it so seriously" anymore... especially when they are supposed to be representative of a site that wants people to support it in every possible way: with their time, sharing their knowledge, using their products and also monetarilly.

Sorry but one can not talk out of both sides of their mouths and expect their arguement to hold water.

See, I didn't see the video in question, either, and I understand that the lyrics got posted but by the time I found out the thread was gone and so was the kid.

So since I didn't get a chance to get my licks in when the initial incident occurred, I decided to get 'em since he's made such a big show of returning.

And I'm sorry, with that new avatar I mean, c'mon, talk about fish in a barrel!
 
Some of us can have fun without breaking the rules. If you break the rules, you get punished. Thats not up to you or me to decide.

If you see a thread/post made by someone that you aren't fond of you ought to try ignoring it. It will save you some frustration.

i understand your point. you have had more issues with the member at hand. i just try to have fun in chat and help on the other forums where i can. i always figured this forum was the area for fun/insults. i never take the stuff here too serious but the points you made did reinforce the fact that maybe taking these things more serious is what everyone needs to do, including myself.

+1. Most of us can differentiate between what is serious and what isn't though. We also had an incident on elite similar to the one that occured on BB.com. Our mods and members were smart enough to know the difference between something serious or something that you just dont agree with. Proper action was taken and due to the mod's and member's diligence. This guy was saved. Some will know of whom I speak.

We are all guilty of saying/typing things that we wish we hadn't on rare occasions, or even sometimes with that whole monday-morning quarterback arguement hindsight is truly 20/20. But there is a difference between good-humored leg-pulling and even dark humor can be HYSTERICAL. Hell I make more fun of myself then anybody else makes fun of me... I can take it on the chin. But there comes a point when people should sit back and think a minute on what is funny and what is out and out malicious and abusive.

If admin and the mods/mentors want people to take elite seriously then they can no longer use the arguement "this is the internet so don't take it so seriously" anymore because that sorta insults our intelligence... does it not?

I could care less if this piece of trash punk (or those JUST LIKE HIM) puts himself in countless situations where he puts himself out there to be ridiculed for being the fool that he is. We all need a village idiot. I can and have ignored him (and those like him) quite successfully, which only fanned the flames. Not always the case, but with most obsessive losers who have NO LIFE that is usually what happens. And eventually they all end up going *poof* which doesn't affect me not one bit. :whatever: I have NEVER been wrong about a situation where I was of the opinion that WHOMEVER was a worthless and did the site more harm and very little of no good whatsoever.

With all due respect 1500, I've been on elite A LOT LONGER than you have been a COB. So even though I know you think you are being helpfull trying to offer me advice about how I can *save myself some frustration* it's sort of insulting. This ain't my first rodeo. Know what I mean?

I ignored this particular asstard for months. A lot of good that did. I didn't complain about him either - NOT ONCE in all those months, hello, why should I complain - I WAS IGNORING HIM and what happens? The fool went and got hisself bant all by his bad self.

Bottom line is if admin/mods/mentors want regular board to take the site seriously then they can not use the arguement "it's just the internet - don't take it so seriously."

When I get bombed I just log off until it gets unblacked... 'course any posts that I made anyplace else on elite for near 10 years are also blacked out... sorta bad for business... dontcha think?

Maybe if they could make it that the black-out only appears in chat (which is where 99% if not ALL of the bombs are used) it would be more fun and games and less damaging to the site as a whole.

See... I don't dwell on problems NOR DO I MAKE THEM - I am all about being part of THE SOLUTION. :)

First to your earlier point: I look at this board like I look at healthcare...you don't have a right to have fun, feel comfortable, etc. Would it be nice if you did? Sure. If you don't, it's not remotely close to being the end of the world. Unless someone is threatening your life or the lives of your loved ones, you have no good reason to get upset. About any of this. You can't (shouldn't) get upset by people tagging on you because they don't like you or your Internet persona. I'm sure some folks on here don't like my awesomeness, but I could care less. Because it's an Internet chat board.

Regarding dwelling on problems, that's too subjective. You may think a small member of the population here are "problems." Others may agree. Chances are just as many if not more folks disagree with you. You have a problem with a few members who rag on you but generally get along with most everyone else doesn't seem to be a problem that the board needs to fix.

I get along with everyone, that is just because I am such a great guy. I could care less what happens because they aren't shooting at me, they aren't hiding in the bush and I can always play mafia wars and be deelighted to drive home in a comfortable hoopdie.

All that being said, I can't undersatnd why people are so caustic on an internet chat board. Is that some insight into their personal life with issues of their own? I also find that when you go pretty much anyplace in the world, when people that are really great human beings they seem to be around other great human beings. The opposite is also true. What does that say about people in general? Well my humble opinion, which anyone can either take or leave, if you are an ass in real life you are an ass everyplace else. The opposite is also true there.

Could be. I think that, depending on the person, a chat board could be an exxagerated version of themselves. Or, they could see it as a way to have some laughs. Laughs, a lot of the time, come at the expense of others. I don't think anyone on EF chat would be especially malicious IRL.

And my answer was quite direct - I said THE SITE has a lot of problems.

I am not *the site*.

The funny part is that you seem to think that I had ANYTHING to do with this particular twirp getting banned when it is clear that I didn't and neither did MM.

THE SITE had a problem (with him) so THEY BANNED HIM. Fairly succint... no?
 
I viewed Glad's youtube and the bannage was deserved. I still believe the kid has oodles of talent, and I'm not afraid to admit that THAT's the sole reason I throw him some slack (halo effect, ya know)...fair or not. But then I remember Yonkers Weights......gawd, what a talentless fucktard. :evil:

Ok, put away your jump to conclusions mat and point out where I alluded to you having someone banned? I'd imagine that if you had that kind of influence, there would be a few other bant folks right about now.

I'm not so sure what's so difficult about my question. You said the site (yes, the site) has problems.

In your opinion (since you claimed to know better than me), what are these problems and who do they affect? Be specific so we can talk like people with IQs over 50.
