My story of steroids

Hello everybody, this isn't going to be the normal kind of thread that you see around here. Before I kick this off, just want to say that I'm not bashing anabolics in any way, shape, or form. This is me telling my story, asking for some advice, and a good cautionary tale for anybody under than 21 who wants to compromise their endocrine system.

Alright, to start off, here's some information about myself. I'm 18 years old, 5'8 and I weigh 195 lbs. I've been working out for two years straight and have come a very long way since I started at a measly 150 lbs. I have been following this community and many others for awhile, pretty much as soon as I got into lifting.

Now the meat of this story..
Being a "very experienced" lifter of one year, I decided to take the plunge and do a short cycle of Anavar. I procured a small amount over the web and did my 4 week cycle. It was pretty successful, I gained 20 lbs. in all of my lifts, leaned out a tad, and filled out a bit. Testicular atrophy was minimal and I bounced back very quickly. Of course, you're never satisfied.

A couple months go by and I start reading into things and getting neurotic. I feel as if my natural test levels are abormally low and I get a testosterone blood test to try to get confirmation of this. They come out perfectly normal, 550 total and 12.x free. Right smack dab in the middle of the scale. However, I convinced myself that I was still abnormal and ordered some testosterone off the internet with the intent to just cycle every couple months to make up for my genetic shortfalls.

I did a 12 week cycle of Test enth, 500mg/week. Of course, my testicals had shrunken to chickets and I knew if I stopped that my gains would go the way of the dodo. So, with this fear in my mind everyday leading up to the end of my cycle, I decide that I'm going to do my own HRT and everything else be damned! So for the past 8 months, I've been shooting 200mg of testosterone per week and taking intermitant shots of HCG while dosing arimidex throughout the whole experience. I have gyno, my testicals are still pretty atrophied and my sex drive is debatable. I'm not sure about my sperm count, but I'm sure it's not pretty.

With this on my conscience, I finally made the decision a week ago to stop the self induced HRT. Yes, better late than never right? I hope that I can have an atleast sub normal test level if I do some heavy physician assisted recovery. The subject of having children was the one that finally brought me to my knees and made me face the facts on this.

Anywho, my HPTA is completely dead right now I'm sure and I plan to take these steps to hopefully have a shot at functioning without HRT.

The plan:

1mg of arimidex 2x/week.
Clomid 40mg/day
HCG 250iu 3x/week
Post cycle/Unleashed (for the hell of it)

I'm going to see an endocrinologist that's familiar with what I had been doing. (He advised me to stop at the three month mark, but we know what happened there.)

Anyways, this is my story of complete ineptitude. Hopefully it should serve as a good cautionary tale to anybody who thinks about anabolics too early.

I'm looking for comments on my proposed recovery plan, has anybody else went through something like this before? Any experience that can be shared would be very valuable to me.

Thank you for reading the thread if you've gotten this far. :coffee:

So basically you've been shut down roughly a year. Bro if your endo is experienced in the subject then just go to him first, get the full blood work done, and see what he suggests. If he doesn't provide much help then I'm sure we can help you around here. I don't know how well your body will respond to just 250ius of hcg since you've been doing it for so long. How long have you been running the hcg and a what dosage?

I didn't want to turn my post into a treatise so I didn't go into it too much, but for the last 4 months I've been shooting it 500iu 3x/week every month. Didn't seem to make too much of a difference, but I always chalked that up to the fact that I was concurrently running an exogenous source of test. My balls never got any bigger or anything from it, so I'm assuming it wasn't really affective.

Yeah, I'm going to see my endo soon. Gotta schedule an appointment with the guy.

That sucks bro.

Get PP's Test Recovery Stack too. Run that with post cycle and unleashed. You might want to get double everything and run a double length aggressive PCT.

Good luck.

I'm allergic to one of the ingredients in the TRS, otherwise I would have continued to use it. :worried:

I honestly think this site should have a sticky about the dangers of young people and steroids. And the sticky should include links to the umpteen amount of threads of stories like this.

Thanks for posting your story.

well there are three compounds in the TRS, its a common ingredient in all three or just one? if its just one then still use the other two.

Yeah, I should have been more specific. Sustain Alpha is the one I'm allergic to.

There should be a sticky like that, It'd be a great deterrent.

dude, keep your head up. i seriously doubt you are as fucked as you think you are. It may take you a while to recover, but i honestly think you will. I can't imagine hcg is gonna bring your balls back when you are still taking test. i did a really long and heavy cycle about 3 years ago, balls shrunk and my loads were all messed up, but eventually everything returned to normal with no medical assistance. if this endo doc is any good at all, he should be able to get you back to an approximation of where you where in time. i would be very surprised to learn that you couldn't have kids eventually. obviously, there are doctors out there that are complete jerk offs, but if this guy makes sense and you believe in what he is saying...go with HIS treatment plan, not your own. I'm sure TRS is great but you clearly need to put your endocrine system in the hands of doctors. look at greg valentino getting off steroids, he went to doctors.

i will say that any time your test levels are being messed with that much, you are going to want to increase the arimidex to more than 2mg a week. if you have gyno, obviously you have too much est running around in your system. i wouldn't go w less than 1mg a day.

Thanks for the reassurance, I appreciate it alot. I'm certainly going to be seeing my doctor very soon, but I can't sit by idly and do nothing in the meantime.

I'm going to shoot the hcg, take the arimidex, dose the clomid, etc. until I see this guy. He'll most likely want me to not take anything and recover naturally... (It's what he suggested last time)
