Today is the first day commercial airline pilots will carry guns

I guess this thing makes a little sense, in a cooky sort of way. In any case, firing one of those inside a plane probably isnt the best idea.

Whatever makes the masses feel safer.

Good thing but as usual, govt. goes only halfway. The poor pilot can carry in the cockpit, ok yeah but what if something happens outside ? ....

Isn't there usually two pilots? One can take over, while the other one tries to neutralize the situation.

yup but as soon as he leaves his cockpit he's a known target.

Art teacher Mary Ellen Binz, returning to Lake Mills, Wis., said putting guns in the hands of pilots makes her nervous.

"It'll get in the hands of the wrong person," she said. "I wonder how pilots feel about it?"

typical liberal mud headed thinking...

how will the gun get in the hands of the wrong
person, as planes are no longer run like public schools...

i have read nothing about pilots protesting...

only pilots not passing the background checks
have complained about NOT being able to participate...

must be some stiff requirements...

but what are my thoughts compared to those of a tactically
trained art teacher...

oh shit, here comes the ACLU...
shouldnt have to pass background checks...blah, blah, blah...
due process...blah, blah, blah...
four legs good, two legs bad, blah, blah, blah...

Hmmmm.....1 1/2 years have passed since 9/11 and now we are arming the pilots and putting in strong doors.

Remember now folks...9/11 is the reason that we invaded Afghanistan and Iraq.

So we overthrew two governments before taking real steps to prevent another 9/11. I love this story.

Most flights are so short that the pilots don't leave the cockpit. The vast majority of flights are under a few hours.
