can someone explain why diesel jeans cost $150?

This is not a flame; I just want to make sure I'm not overlooking something.

I went to the Diesel store and saw a pair I liked ... I figured it'd be about $60 because that dirty, Goodwill look has allowed not- so-great-condition clothing to sell at crazy prices.

The price was actually $150. First off, let me just say that I am not a cheapskate when it comes to clothes; I'll gladly pay that amount for high twist wool pants or a super nice dress shirt. Also, i'll buy $50-60 jeans if the look and fit are worthy.

Also, I did not try on the Diesel jeans, partly because my ends had split while laughing at the outrageous price. Maybe had I worn the dirty looking things I would've felt like a million dollars and bought them.

Don't Abercrombie, Guess, and Levi's make jeans that look the same as any particular Diesel jeans(each company doesn't make all the different styles, but you can shop those three stores and find any Diessel style in at least one of the stores, i think)? How much better quality or better fitting could Diesel be than those brands? Am I missing somehitng important?

Thanks for clearing this up for me.

They're good and they last long....best quality I've bought so far...and yeah they are pricey but they're worth it

yeah, that was what came to my mind, as well...

but, about the only reasons i've had for throwing away a pair of jeans have been when they no longer fit or if i rip them via some fluke accident. I mean, all my jeans (levi's , gap, A|X, etc) have had no problem keeping up over the years.

so don't you think this "long-lasting" deal is overplayed? I mean, pants and shirts wear out through repeated wear and washing, but any decent jeans get take those lickings. So, I had a hard time convincing myself it was all about the durability (believe me, I really did want to get them, but I just needed on solid reason)

as far as quality goes, how much better than a pair of silvertab jeans or guess jeans can they be? Please let me know , cuz if they truly are ten times better I'd like to go back and try them on . Judging by the feel of the fabric, I didn't think it was going to be some really super fit. In fact I thought it might feel uneasy .

I agree Diesel are WAY too much.
But, honestly, they look SUPER good when they are on. Until all these lo-rider jeans came out I would say Diesels made a girls ass look awsome.
Now..its all about the lo-riders.

Here's a secret... a lot of jeans come from the same manufacturer. The quality is identical. You're paying for the brand name, not the quality.

The "long-lasting" line is majorly overplayed. Jeans are built tough, but most people who where them aren't doing anything close to something that might damage them. In other words, your levi's are going to last you just as long as your diesel jeans.

Save your money... buy some cheaper jeans. I HIGHLY doubt anyone is going to notice or judge you any differently.

I agree wholeheartedly with you LeviathonX, but I just wanted to make sure it wasn't once of those things where Diesel is really highly liked compared to Levi's or Gap.

It's a dead giveaway that jeans will last more years than you wanna wear them , given you don't crawl all the time.

The only question remains, do girls really like them on guys a lot more than other jeans? If girls think they're really cute on guys, then I might consider buying them, but if not there's absolutely no reason.

I never found that girls really cared what brand of jeans I was wearing. They were more concerned with the look... not the brand. You can get the "diesel jeans look" from a variety of other cheaper jeans companies.

Anyway, if the girl gives you the shaft because you aren't wearing her favorite brand of jeans, that is a sign right off the bat that she is shallow. I'd just avoid her.

You can look good without spending a $1000 on clothes.

tru dat...i just wanted to hear from someone who thought otherwise, cuz there must be some ppl who think they're just fabulous or else they wouldn't be selling those jeans for $150

Italian made jeans folks. I find there are better styled jeans out there. I used to buy Diesel but their cuts are really nasty now. I'd rather by Mavi.
