I couldnt really find an answer searching through elite, so i figured id post to ask. Concerning computer safety, which would be better for hiding your IP from BOTH your ISP and webpage? The anonymizer2004 or a highly anonymous free proxy from a different country (like china, brazil, etc)? I know the anonymizer is great, but their IP logs to northern california, and their company is based in san diego. As such, if the government wanted to, couldn't they subpoena the server in northern ca to find out which IP's are using it? And as for out of country anonymous proxys, how can you tell if they are truly highly anonymous? After hearing about the subpoena to our encrypted email providers, it seems that nothing is very safe anymore, except things that are located outside the US. So any ideas as far as masking your IP from both your ISP and any webpages you visit? Can the anonymizer's server cover tracks in a way that even the company themselves couldnt find out which IP's are accessing it? Or is our best bet finding an anonymous proxy from a country like china, who will never cooperate with the US?
