: Does anyone know how a pale, light skinned, almost translucent person can get a tan?
: I am very fair and don't tan well. Is there anything I can take to increase my melanin. I heard
: that there is a prescription drug, but I don't know the name. IF it works, is it easy to get?
: Is my inability to tan a sign of pituitary deficiency?
The prescription medication to which you refer is called "Trisoralen". I have read that taking it for two weeks before going out into the sun, such as New Englanders going to Florida for spring break, will help develop a good tan and protect your skin (somewhat) from sunburn. Lotion is still the best protection for sunburn, though.
