: : Can dogs be used to control those who would attempt to bring A.S by plane, foot
: Your question is difficult to comprehend with the wording
: you used but I think you are asking if dogs are being
: used to "sniff" out a.s. when coming across borders.
: The answer to that is that they probably could but
: currently dogs are not being used for that purpose yet.
: I believe that will change soon as they are excellent
: at bomb sniffing and once terrorist activity starts
: getting out of hand again, we'll probably see dogs
: as the new recruits in the war against anything they
: can be trained to sniff out and I would think that
: would include a.s.
: My opinion. Bigcanuk.
At this point, I'm not aware of any dogs that are trained to sniff out A.S. Most A.S. are sold in vials/amps/sealed push-packs/foils which can be wiped down with lysol disinfectent, don't use alcohol as this product is used in manufacturing some narcotics and some dogs may alert on the residue left behind. When traveling make sure that you are extra clean (don't put snacks/fruit in your luggage, make sure all your clothes are washed and the bottoms of your shoes are clean) Dogs may alert and something that's really false, but that invites the agents to find what they shouldn't. Dogs in Hawaii will alert on a simple apple. Be careful and watch your back!!! Hulkster
