Nothing to worry about. I go to Canada frequently and always get waived through in both directions. My advice - take a weekend holiday in the states. Sunday evening the RCMP the border is always backed up and RCMP (and the USBP if you are coming this way)is way too busy to inspect everyone, and definitely no one seems to care so much at the *Canadian* border if you are Anglo. Not to sound racist, but I have observed every trip that the only ones the RCMP seems dedicated to searching are Asians. Just tell them you had a nice time in Maine or Vermont and you have nothing to declare. I have carted all kinds of stuff back and forth - up to furniture in boxes either for me in the states or friends in the provinces. Must be looking for all that cash coming out of Hong Kong, I guess. Too bad you're not American. You get to bring home up to $US 400 of whatever per trip AND get a refund of the GST and PST. Have a nice trip!
