EPO is big news in Europe's Pro bicycle racing. Although drugs have long been used by the riders the shits hitting the fan over EPO. Many Dutch cyclists have died using the stuff. What it does (what I've read) is enable the blood to carry more oxygen. And it's reported to be quite $$. Lots of talk about EPO on rec.bicycling.racing
