The only advantage I can see is that if you are not using a nationally accessible ISP, you can log into HotMail from anywhere when you travel because it is a website. As for security, I'm not convinced how much more secure HotMail is compared to your own e-mail, since most everything can be traced to a server somewhere. All e-mail has a detailed "envelope" which you don't always see. IMO, if you live in Dallas, Texas (for example) and you use a local ISP, it will be easier to physically find you if someone has your real name and a phone book. At least use an alias and ask your ISP about security and privacy. Hope this helps a little. Woof.
