Of course it all depends on what your goals are with weight training. I don't see why one should work on legs if they are satisfied with their level of development. I don't train lats anymore because they have a tendency to overshadow my non-existant chest. This occurs because I absolutely _love_ working my back, but _loathe_ working my chest. When I went with my likes/dislikes, I sorta screwed my posture up (as well as body asthetic/symmetry), so now I'm on a chest specialization program, yadda-yadda-yadda.

Cutting out bodyparts (heh, nice phrasing) give others faster recovery, and would seem to lessen the chances of systemic overtraining. Perhaps this would be good advice to give all those 'typical' bodybuilders who train nothing but chest and biceps and complain they haven't made gains in forever...

Strength loss should be minimal/mostly on a neural level on such a layoff - the body always compensates for additional mass by upgrading the entire system. This is why squats/deadlifts/et-al are such good overall mass-builders.

In any case, if you don't want to train legs anymore, I don't see why you should have to.
