I was right regarding the nature of the whey protein industry. In my search for better and cheaper products
I contacted a whey protein manufacturer and started talking to one of their sales rep. Anyway, I mentioned
that I though that most of what is being offered is malarkey and she agreed. I pointed out specifically
Designer Whey and guess what that company is who supplies the material for Designer Whey. Also guess what--
The whey is only 80% protein with about 5% lactose and fat. They do have a 13% hydrolized product which is
a little more but both of these products are quite cheap and not nearly cutting edge. Anyway, I'm getting samples
of this product--both hydrolized and non-hydrolized. I really think that this might be the low end product that]
I will carry. The non-hydrolized will sell for probably $4.00 per pound and the hydrolized $4.50. This is an extremely
good price. I'm still checking and might be able to find something better. Oh yeah, these products come in
50 pound bags so you know the deal! I also got samples from that company which is the largest whey manuf. in the world.
Their hydrolized product is 27% and is super high quality and very expensive but is still only 80% whey. Their 90+
whey was not very soluble so that's out. I've worked with one company which sells an incredible 90+ instantized whey
which tastes awesome and mixes instantly--it is packed in 33 pound bags but it would probably cost about $9.00 a pound. This
is pretty expensive but the product is top notch. I am still looking for a good high end product at a lower price so that
I can offer it at about the $7.00 per pound range. Also, I sourced a company which sells HMB. It should cost about
$220.00 per kilo.--maybe less. Must be going
