I think I have cookies, how do I know!

I think that I have cookies on my machine, but I am no computer pro. I have only been using windows 95, and on the internet for about 2.5 months, so I am not too sure. I do have a cookies folder in my internet file, and it has some stuff in it, but I do not know what it is. I am using MS IE 3.0. Also, I checked off the security section in my internet explorer, and it warns me that I have been given a cookie, every time I go to read one of somebody's posts on the board. Is this normal?

Sorry that this question has nothing to do with bodybuilding, but I do my best to help other people with their questions about BB, and drugs etc. and now I need some help.
