: : Bar none, the best treatment for acne is isotretinoin--ie Accutane. Most doctors these

: Are you guys stupid or something?!
: Do you need a goddamn drug to cure everything? Accutane is for severe cystic acne that has been developing for years. It's a powerful drug that works very well, but it also makes your acne a hell of a lot worse in the early phases.
: Acne caused by anabolic steroids is almost always a temporary problem. Give it a little time, and it should fade on its own. If it doesn't, then "your friend" probably had a preexisting acne problem to begin with.
Believe me, isotretinoin is not terrible advice. I could care less what a "drug" is indicated for. The real question is what is the pharmacology behind the drug. In the case
of isotretinoin is works very much like very high doses of Vitamin A. The difference is that Vitamin A is stored in the body and becomes toxic over time. Researchers developed several synthetic retinoids which
did the same thing but were not toxic. I have seen nothing but positive results from isotretinoin--and no the acne DOES NOT GET MUCH WORSE IN THE BEGINNING OF TREATMENT! As far as the
tanning, you might see a slight improvement as UV rays tend to dry the skin. I would rather use the aforementioned product though or a simple benzoyl peroxide lotion or try ketoconazole (which I have no
experience with but hear that it works), or finasteride (proscar). Finasteride will help but let me warn you that you must have good vasularity to use this drug. Androgens promote vascular health (why women
have 4 times the incidence of varicose veins) and Proscar significantly reduces the amount of androgens in the systme
