Finasteride is quite interesting. I took this for about a year and noticed several things. First, I could see a decrease in my
androgenicity and my sex drive went way up. I guess this was due to the elevation in testosterone with a concommitant decrease
in DHT. Eventually, I noticed changes in the texture and color of my hair--good things. But, as time went on several bad things
occurred. First, my sex drive plummeted. Then, I started dribbling after I urinated. The worst was that I have a slight case
of venous insufficiency (spider veins). Well, they got really bad. At first, I didnt put two and two together. But, then I
figured it out and went off the Finasteride. Almost immediately the veins got better. If you want to be non-vascular then
take Finasteride--it wreaks havoc on veins. I guess if you are one of those people with awesome vasularity it might not
hurt too much but for me it messed me up. I think if you have good vascularity and want to try it to minimize hair loss, etc,
it should not be too bad. I would only use it though for several months until the sex drive plummeted. It seamed that at this
point everything (like my veins) started to go awry. I have done some research and am convinced that androgens/anabolics sustain
and keep the veins in good condition. The reason is that gluccocorticoids activate proteases, elastases, collagenases, etc that
break down tissue and cause weakness (muscle, veins, etc). Anabolics/androgens antagonize the action of gluccocorticoids and thus
would work great therapeutically. I tried to get several doctors to prescribe me anabolics on this premise--well, you can imagine
what they said. YOU ARE OUT OF YOUR MIND--PRESCRIBE THOSE HORRIBLY DANGEROUS DRUGS THAT CAN KILL YOU. yeah. right!
Keep up the fight!
