: : I'm sorry I got myself into this. I read a few messages in response to mine, so I've
: : decided to respond. When you finish reading this, you'll see that what I posted
: : could mean several different things, but the address *does* exist according to the
: : mail server. By the way, I don't care to explain of defend what I do or why I do
: : it. I think everyone here should maintain a certain level of paranoia (eg., common
: : sense).
: : The host that receives his mail is connected to a UUNET backbone over-seas. UUNET
: : is owned by MFS in the U.S. and has a certain degree of government affiliation...take
: : that for what it's worth.
: : The mail server has one dedicated gateway that's rather slow and there are 2 target
: : addresses (machines) right next to each other that are fire-walled. I suspect one
: : of the 2 is a PROXY server (assigns dynamic and changing addresses).
: : The trace I dumped, and some others I didn't post, shows that you have to go through
: : MAE East to get there (from US), and everyone who's passed "hacking 101" knows that
: : the U.S. government filters packets from there.
: : One unusual aspect of these systems: they do not allow connections to some very
: : common services, such as HTTPD (you are using it now), from remote systems. I think
: : this is very strange.
: : My guess is that "Paul Masters" is a U.S. government officer of some sort and that
: : the gateway was setup to investigate shit like what goes on here.
: : If you don't agree with any of this, please don't flame me - this is only my opinion.
: : If you don't like what I've said or posted as a matter of philosophy, you can kiss
: : my ass because knowledge and information are free and we all have a right to "know
: : things" and share what we've learned.
: : PS: I could do more with this but I choose not to. There's no point in it.
: : Remember: you're on your own.
: Keep up the good work! We need guys like you who have hacker knowledge to keep us all safe. I may know my chem, but it takes others like you to expose the dangers that are out there! Thanks for the assist with the anarchy. Anarchy in the USA!
Blix, I agree with animal. Your presence on this board and helping out in your own way is much appreciated. I'v been programing for a few years now and I'v been on a computer since I was 12 and I don't have a clue how you get all the info you talk about. If you have any pointers you could share with me or the rest of the board on how to investigate "Sources", and it wouldn't cause you and problems legally or otherwise I'm sure we would like to hear about them. Thanks,
