Phoneman, I have seven tattoos and have gained about 50 pounds since the first one. Yes, the tattoos will enlarge and may lose a little detail, but you have nothing to worry about, the changes are very subtle.
The pigment that was needled between the layers of your skin will not move around, and it would take some enormous weight gain (I'm guessing roughly 60-70 pounds) for you to see very noticeable differences.
Besides, you can always have the tat touched up if you feel it is becoming noticeably different, but I doubt it will.
