: I was wondering what the best type and cycle would benefit an endurance trained
: athlete (runners,cyclists,swimmers).
I'm interested in this type of usage also, as a
rugby player, which requires size, strength, and endurance.
I've heard that Winstrol is supposed to be good
for endurance athletes. I've never experienced a
good Winstrol cycle, though, so I don't know for
certain. Definitely a less androgenic choice would
be better for runners, etc. Aromatization can cause
problems with joints and connective tissues that
runners just don't need. I'm sure it's not TOO much
of a coincidence that knee surgeries are so prevalent
in professional football. People got tackled in the
old days, too.
Depending on the endurance required (i.e marathon
vs. 1 mile vs. football vs. rugby, etc) size and
strength have different priorities. For instance,
I'm not sure whether additional strength and
muscle mass would be beneficial to the marathon
runner who has to carry that added muscle weight
while supplying additional oxygen to power those
muscles. The miler, however requires (although not
a lot of it) some explosiveness and additional
speed. I think the athlete would really have to
weigh their options carefully in this situation.
Many athletes will use doses lower than
bodybuilding as a training tool. The steroids will
help their muscles recover more quickly from their
workouts allowing them to train harder, and gain
an edge that way. You need to ask yourself what
your physical goals are, and what your training
conditions are.
As far as side effects go, I don't think the
training habits will affect them much, (except maybe
swimmers with acne, the daily chlorine does a pretty
good job of washing your face). It's more a function
of diet and the type of steroid being used. Less
androgenic=less side effects and vice versa.
Bottom line, they can help in certain situations
if used properly. Popping d-bol, eating like a horse,
hitting the weights and putting on 30 lbs might not be
the ideal goal, though.
