Cookies are all over the internet. It's something that the webmaster or web designer puts in so they can keep statistics on who visits their web pages. I use Internet Explorer, and I can choose to accept or ignore cookies.
And to get rid of them, just empty your cache folder/files. They are basically just text files, so they disappear without a hassle.
